What is Structured Family Caregiving?
Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) is a Medicaid-funded program that provides support and financial assistance to family caregivers. The program pays you to provide private in home care for a family member that you live with.
- Eligibility
You may qualify if you are caring for a family member who is enrolled in the CCSP or SOURCE waiver programs and is not your spouse or legal responsibility. The family member must be generally aged, disabled, or have Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. - Services
The program includes:- Payment for supervision, personal care assistance, and homemaker services
- Individualized training based on the needs of the care recipient
- Coaching, including emotional support
- Back-up or respite care
The caregiver must be a family member who lives in the same residence with the CCSP or Source participant. The family member must at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States. The family member cannot have employment anywhere else. The family member cannot be a spouse.
